Write Congress: Distance yourself from Biden’s Genocide

Send a letter to your lawmakers in Congress putting them on notice: if they fail to call for a ceasefire, they too are complicit in genocide. President Biden has unconditionally enabled Israel’s genocide, and the bare minimum humanitarian response for members of Congress is to call for an end to Israel’s assault and to ensure no more weapons are sent to Israel. 

Organize a SPEAK-OUT or Rally Targeting Your Lawmakers

This is one of the most powerful actions we can take right now because it is bringing the crisis to the doorstep of the people who have the power to do something about it. Even if you’ve never organized anything like this before, now is the moment to step up and lead. Your speak-out can be organized at your lawmaker’s offices or in a central location in your city/town. For guidance on target and opportunity identification, check out this resource from U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights.  

  • Print photos and posters and hold them up at your speak-out/action. Here is a folder of some posters. 

  • Create signs with language like:

    • Permanent Ceasefire Now

    • Stop Arming Israel 

    • Let Gaza Live

    • Divest From Death

    • Stop Funding Death -- from the Border to Palestine.

    • Congress & Corporations: Making Millions, While Millions Die.

    • Fund Schools (Housing, Health Care, etc.), Not Genocide

    • Fund Community Needs, Not Corporate Greed

    • Create visuals that show the amount of money being proposed for war and what it could go to instead, especially in your community.

Inviting Media:

Be sure to give local press the heads up about your action by sending out a media advisory before the event, followed by a press release as soon as the event ends. Wheatpaste Wanted Posters

Ahead of the hearing on January 26, you can cover your city in Wanted posters charging genocide against Biden, Blinken and Austin. We have developed some posters in black and white for more affordable printing. You can download them here and print them out on 8.5x11 inch, thin paper. The thinner the better!

This link provides a recipe for making wheatpaste, best practices for printing your posters, and some pointers on where to place your posters. A word of caution that in some cities and municipalities, wheatpasting may not be legal. Do your research before taking this action!
